Financial numbers are personal. We treat them that way.
Øresund Life is built so the sensitive part of your calculation never leaves your device — and so everything else we do hold is listed here in full.

1.Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Øresund Life, Sweden. For any privacy question or request, email hello@oresund-life.com. This notice is written under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2.Your calculation stays in your browser
Salary, housing costs, household details and commuting values are kept in your browser’s local storage so you can come back and continue. They are not transmitted to our servers and we cannot see them. Press “Start over” in the calculator, or clear your browser storage, to erase them instantly.
3.What we actually process, and on what legal basis

4.What we never do
- We never sell or rent personal data.
- We never run advertising or cross-site tracking.
- We never ask for personnummer, CPR number, ID documents or bank credentials.
- We never link your saved calculations to the anonymous analytics data.
- We never use your data to train third-party AI models.
5.Who processes data on our behalf
- Hosting, database and authentication — our application platform and its managed EU database, under a data processing agreement.
- Email delivery — sending your sign-in links from notify.oresund-life.com.
Public data sources we read (ECB, Rejseplanen, Skånetrafiken, Øresundsbron) receive no personal data from us. Where a processor operates outside the EU/EEA, transfers rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
6.Shared result links
A share link encodes a privacy-reduced summary of your result in the URL itself — never your salary, your name or your email. Anyone with the link sees that summary, so share it deliberately. Nothing extra is stored on our side.
7.Cookies and analytics
No advertising or tracking cookies are used. Analytics is strictly opt-in and can be switched off at any time below. The full list of what is stored in your browser is on the cookies page.
8.Your rights
You may request access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction, portability in a machine-readable format, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Consent can be withdrawn at any time without affecting past processing.
Write to hello@oresund-life.com from your account address; we answer within one month, free of charge. You can also delete your account and all saved scenarios yourself from your account page.
If you are unhappy with how we handle it, you may complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY (imy.se), or to the supervisory authority in your country of residence.
9.Security and breaches
Data is encrypted in transit, access to the database is restricted by row-level security so one account can never read another’s data. If a breach ever puts your rights at risk, we notify IMY within 72 hours and inform affected users directly.
Analytics preference
When enabled, we store anonymous usage events and the numbers your calculation produced, linked only to a random session id. Turning this off stops all collection immediately — the calculator keeps working exactly the same.
