Salary calculator

Danish salary calculator for people living in Sweden

See what a Copenhagen salary becomes after Danish tax — and what is actually left once you live on the Swedish side.

Most Danish salary calculators stop at net pay. That is only half the story if your rent, your groceries and your life happen in Sweden.

This calculator takes your gross DKK salary, models the Danish tax structure — labour market contribution, bottom tax, municipal tax, top tax and the tax ceiling — and then keeps going: housing, commuting, everyday costs and family benefits.

It also handles the part that generic calculators ignore: whether you are a Danish resident or a cross-border commuter, and how many days you actually work in Denmark.

The result is not a net salary figure. It is the amount of money you have left at the end of the month, in the currency you think in.

Gross to net

AM-bidrag, employment allowance, personal allowance, bottom, municipal and top tax.

Resident or commuter

Different municipal treatment for Danish residents and cross-border employees.

Effective rate

See the real percentage of your salary that goes to tax, not just the headline rate.

Beyond net pay

Housing, commuting and everyday costs are what decide the outcome.

Common questions

How much tax do you pay on a Danish salary?

Danish employment income is first reduced by the labour market contribution, then taxed through a combination of state bottom tax and municipal tax, with top tax above a threshold and an overall ceiling on the combined rate. The calculator models this structure and shows the effective rate on your salary.

What is 65,000 DKK per month worth in SEK?

That depends on the exchange rate as well as tax. We convert using a clearly dated configured rate and always show which rate was used, so the number is never presented as more precise than it is.

Are these official rates?

The structure follows the official Danish system, but each individual rate in the product is labelled with its source, effective date and quality. Anything we have not yet verified against an official source is marked as a configured assumption rather than presented as fact.

Øresund Life provides estimates for informational purposes only. Cross-border tax and social-security rules are complex and depend on your individual circumstances. Always verify your situation with the relevant authorities or a qualified adviser.
